Chairman
Mark Stopps
(Bentley GC)
Mark is the Golf Course Manager at Bentley Golf Club where he has worked for the past nine years, before that he had a short spell at Three Rivers G&CC working as head man on the Jubilee course.
Mark joined the committee for the first time as a member in 2010 as your new Chairman.
Mark has re-joined as our Chairman after a short break due to ill health.
We are pleased that Mark has decided that he is able to return to the helm and steer us again on the right path.  
President
Martin Forrester
(The Essex Golf & Country Club)
Martin is Course Manager at The Essex, part of the Club Company. Where he has been for the past 9 years,
Martin is the longest serving member of the Essex Section and was one of the founder members of the section back in 1997. A decision was made to leave the East Anglia section and start one from scratch in Essex..  
Education Officer
Ian Wood
(Romford GC)
Ian is Course Manager at Romford Golf Club
Ian has taken over the roll of Secretary until the AGM.
He continues in his role also as Education Officer and has jumped right in the deep-end. Running a First Aid course within a few weeks of taking on the job. He plans to continue with more courses over the next few months.

Arnold Phipps-Jones
(Stock Brook Manor & Three Rivers Golf & Country Clubs)

Arnold is Golf Courses' Manager of Stock Brook The Country Club and Three Rivers Golf and Country Club and has been on the committee for many years. He is a past Chairman and Vice Chairman of the section.
Arnold was also the first Regional Administrator for the Midlands Section at the formulation of BIGGA.  He now continues his role on the section committee as Secretary along with the roles of Press Officer and Webmaster.
He is also a Director on the National BIGGA Board, representing the         South East Region.                              
Section Treasurer
Tom Smith
(Colne Valley GC)

Tom is Course Manager at Colne Valley Golf Club. He joined the in committee in November 2006, and has served as Treasurer since then. He was instrumental along with Martin Forrester, in setting up of the trade partnership that we now have.
Tom is also your Regional Representative for your Section along with Arnold.
In December 2011 Tom was elected      South East Regional Chairman.

Competition Secretary

Antony Kirwan

(Lexdon Wood Golf Club)

Antony has re-joined the committee after a break of two years back into his previous role of Competitions secretary.

Antony has been Head Greenkeeper at Lexdon Wood for the past four years and has moved the course forward to it’s present state.

This popular club has had a hard time of late, but is moving forward again and has high hopes for the future.

Neil has joined the committee to represent the sponsor’s.
Neil works for P.Tuckwell Ltd but is on the committee to represent and look after the sponsor’s best interests.

Andy Cracknell
(Frinton GC)
Andy is Head Greenkeeper at Frinton Golf Club.
He completed his HND in sports turf in 2004 and joined Orsett Golf Club as an assistant greenkeeper. In 2007 he was offered  the position of Deputy to Don. He joined  as a member of BIGGA when he first started at Orsett and in that time has  represented the Essex section in many golf tournaments.

He has also been a representative of the section at the National Championships.

Andy has decided to take a bit of a break from his position as competitions secretary, as he wants to put a bit more time in in his new job, but hopefully he  will still be available to assist when needed.
